When we look back, the year 2026 will be significant in so many ways. Will we become better informed, more engaged to make a positive difference where we can, wiser, more compassionate to each other, to ourselves, other creatures, and to our natural environment? Can we be more cognizant of how our personal and societal choices, our culture and our economy affect our immediate surroundings and the greater natural world that sustains us? Will our communities become more resilient?
The direction we in America collectively choose to go will set the course of history. Our 20th annual festival of learning opportunities can play a role by focusing attention on the importance of our relationship to the natural world.
Two decades ago, a concept motivated the founders of Kanab, Utah’s Amazing Earthfest. An inspiration arose to create a kind of template for a new type of festival of experiential learning events and activities that could be widely emulated. A public forum that would seek to develop and deepen societal awareness of our intrinsic connection to, and indeed, dependence upon nature as the enabling source for humanity to be able to thrive and evolve. To increase appreciation and respect for our magnificent public lands as the engine for rural Utah economies. And to cast an eye to the future... to love, protect, and preserve the natural ecosystems of our planet and better comprehend our impacts upon them.
We invite you to the 20th Annual Amazing Earthfest, May 7-10, 2026, to discover and enhance your connections with others who love nature, and with America’s unmatched public estate; our National and State Parks, Forests, Monuments and Public Lands. For they are an inexhaustible source of ongoing inspiration as repositories of natural wonder, and a shared heritage for humanity and all forms of life.
