Southern Utah’s annual Amazing Earthfest takes place May 7 through 10, 2026. This unique public festival in Kanab, Utah, affords exciting opportunities to gather together to express and share appreciation for the magnificent public lands of the American West, a collective action needed now more than ever before!

In their multiplicity of forms as National Parks, Monuments and Conservation Lands, Historic and Scenic Trails, State Parks, National Forests and districts of Public Land managed for multiple use - Americans depend on these special places as significant enhancements for quality of life. They are protected landscapes of immense importance for their inspiration, critical habitat, cultural and scientific value, scenic beauty, recreational opportunity, economic benefits, and more - vital resource reserves for present and future generations.

Earthfest is a four-day celebration of experiential learning opportunities with events set into six categories: Arts and Culture, Community, Documentary Film, Outdoor Adventure, Science and Land, and Night Sky. The festival’s multi-day span invites visitors from across the nation and beyond to explore the myriad recreational destinations, lifestyles, and cultures of south central Utah and the Arizona Strip from a home base in Kanab.

Events this year include professional level workshops in landscape photography, presentations on rainforest ecology, wilderness adventuring history, preventive search and rescue, seismology, archaeology, botany and more. A series of documentary films illuminates a variety of topics ranging from the vital importance of insects to Earth’s ecological balance, to experiments in homesteading built upon notions of alternative education, economics, and models of sustainability, to the wonders of cosmology. Each day begins with a guided hike into stunning scenery.

For those attending, Kanab’s Amazing Earthfest serves as a forum for sharing and building community with others who love and care about the natural, seek to be inspired by the evocative, and value the unity of creation – enhancing comprehension of our inseparability from it, and the need to practice lifeways that honor reciprocity to it.

Twenty-three scheduled activities, all offered free of charge, will compose this year’s festival and are presently in development. Watch for details at https://www.amazingearthfest.org/events/upcoming.
