Join specialists from the Bureau of Land Management to explore the powerful wind-driven wildfire on Timber Mountain that burned 11,000 acres of sagebrush/grassland and pinyon-juniper woodlands in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in July of 2024.

Learn about the fire, natural recovery process already taking place, and the emergency stabilization and rehabilitation efforts that are currently underway. Co-leads Marc Coles-Ritchie (ecologist) and Cameron McQuivey (wildlife biologist) will show photos and describe the fire's impacts, rehabilitation efforts being undertaken and the research that will document and asses post-fire recovery.
