Travel with the American physicist, writer, and social entrepreneur Alan Paige Lightman as he explores humanity's place in the moral universe, highlighting that within the enormous scale of physical existence we live roughly equidistant between atoms and stars. Interviews with the Dalai Lama, a rabbi, and a bio-ethicist offer insights into artificial intelligence, consciousness, and ethical considerations regarding advanced androids. Lightman has served on the faculties of Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is currently a professor of the practice of the humanities at MIT.
