SOLAR ASTRONOMY

- Science and Land
- Kane County Office of Tourism, 78 South 100 East, Kanab, Utah.
Bryce Canyon National Park is providing two sky watching events; in the morning for students, and afternoon for the general public. NPS Astro-Rangers will guide you in an exploration of our favorite star…the sun! Safely look at the sun through a solar telescope to observe solar flares, the sudden release of electromagnetic energy from the solar atmosphere; sunspots, dark areas on the surface of the sun arising from strong magnetic fields; and discover why the sky is blue.
The morning session at Kanab Elementary is for school students and parents only, and is not open to the public. The afternoon session at Kane County Office of Tourism is open to the public. Look, learn and enjoy!
