Thunder River Trail in Grand Canyon N.P.

Time: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Utah Time (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, AZ Time)
Location: Gather at the Earthfest Information Table at 7:00 AM, Kane County Office of Tourism, 78 South 100 East, Kanab, Utah. Carpool to the trailhead. Parking is very limited.

Just a couple of spots remaining before this hike is full! WEATHER ADVISORY! A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 63. Pack your rain gear. South southwest wind 17 to 22 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

Description: Celebrate the Centennial of GCNP with a strenuous, all-day adventure to a remote trail on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. With an experienced local resident as your guide, this strenuous 6-8 mile day-hike descends into the immensity of the Tapeats Creek region of the western Grand Canyon. Magnificent views in all directions inspire poetry! Wear appropriate footwear and a hat. Pack one gallon of water, your hiking pole, sun screen, a lunch and snacks. Limit 10 persons. Note: Muddy roads could force cancellation of this event. Stay tuned!
