HANGING GARDEN WILDFLOWER HIKE

Presented By: Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

NPS Centennial Celebration Event!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This event takes place in Arizona. 6:00 PM Arizona Time is 7:00 PM Utah Time!

Experience the desert in bloom on a ranger-led hike along the Hanging Garden trail. The one-mile round trip hike follows a wildflower-lined path to a shady alcove with a lush riparian habitat formed by a seep spring (the “hanging garden”). The alcove is full of ferns, mosses, and possibly even orchids in bloom for all to enjoy! The hike will take place in early evening and will end with the setting sun.

Meet at the trailhead. Bring your own water, wear comfortable clothing, hiking shoes and sun protection. No drinking water, trash, or restrooms are available on site. Visit www.nps.gov/glca for more information.

From downtown Kanab drive 72 miles south on Highway 89 toward Page, Arizona. Approximately ¼ mile after crossing Glen Canyon Bridge, turn left onto a gravel road. Drive 200 yards on the gravel road to park at the trailhead. To carpool to this event, meet at 5:30 PM Utah Time, at the Earthfest Information Table, Kane County Office of Tourism, 78 South 100 East, Kanab.
