FIRE MANAGEMENT ON PUBLIC LANDS
Date: Friday, May 17, 2019
Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Utah Time (1:00 PM TO 4:00 PM, Arizona Time)
Location: North Kaibab Ranger District. Meet at Fredonia District Office, 430 S. Main St., Fredonia, AZ. Carpool or drive in convoy to a location on the North Kaibab National Forest.
Description: Wildfire is as easy to control as a Hurricane or a Tornado! Natural fires cannot be avoided or prevented. Human caused fires are preventable but still occur. Proper mitigation and management practices can reduce the dangers of a wild fire to populated areas and help preserve natural resources. This outdoor presentation on the North Kaibab National Forest will show some of the advantages of forest thinning and restoration methods used to manage public land.
