On this occasion, Joel Rosenberg will make his eighth appearance at Southern Utah’s annual Amazing Earthfest. Mr. Rosenberg, viola, accompanied by Ruth Sherwood Sadasivan, violin, will present a live performance of works by Bach, Mozart, and Handel, including two suites by J.S. Bach for solo viola representing some of the greatest music written by Bach. Duos for violin and viola will feature music by Mozart and Handel.

Mr. Rosenberg is a graduate of Juilliard and a 2023 recipient of the Utah Governor's Mansion Award in the Arts. During his career he received a Fulbright Grant to Rome, Italy, where he studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, and is an Individual Artist Grant recipient from the State of Utah.

Presently, Mr. Rosenberg conducts the American West Symphony and Ballet, and the Paradigm Chamber Orchestra in Salt Lake City. http://www.joelrosenbergconductor.com/pages/about.html.

Ruth Sherwood Sadasivan attended the Conservatory of Music at Lawrence University in Wisconsin, where she received a Bachelor of Music in string education, then earning her Master of Music in violin performance at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. A recipient of the Ford Foundation Fellowship for String Quartet, Ruth’s quartet presented master classes and performed extensively throughout Kansas and Missouri.

Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts in Mt Carmel Utah showcases the best contemporary artists working today in western landscape, and has preserved the historic summer residence and studio of the early 20th century artist Maynard Dixon. Experience a magnificent musical performance, meet these two outstanding musicians, mingle and converse with visiting guests, neighbors and friends surrounded by the beautiful works of art on display at the Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum and Gallery.

Access to the events of Amazing Earthfest is free, however we recommend a one-time donation amount of $20 to cover admission to most events scheduled during the festival. There are a few exceptions, which are noted in the event descriptions, to cover the cost of food or performances.
